I absolutely love this place! They have a fantastic variety of ceramic pots in many colors and sizes, which is something I don’t often see in other stores. I have been a customer of Sunset Boulevard Nursery for about 5 years. Most of the saff is knowledgeable, so if you are often frustrated with Big Box Store incompetence, try SBN. I always leave with something… Usually a unique cactus or small shrub that I haven’t seen anywhere else. As far as plant inventory and selection-they have many succulent & cacti options, many herbs and annuals, and a decent amount of indoor/house plants. Also, I love all of the plant varieties from Australia and South Africa like Banksia, Proteas, Gravillia. Everything is priced at a premium here. For instance, the Cereus Spiral Cactus I purchased in Carlsbad last month for $65, costs $75 here.

It’s a great Nursery with calm ambiance. Workers can be hit or miss with level of customer service. Some are friendly and some don’t even say hello or barely look up when you ask a question. Social Media presence needs work, they often misrepresent sales and plants meaning they won’t be on actual sale and once I got sold a plant that was actually a different plant than what sticker said, although similar. I gave a 4 cause I like going there and the nice workers, mostly the older Hispanic dudes, are always friendly. Cheers.

They’ve helped us on my the plant & soil choices to grow a vine fence soil and their staff there was intricate help to us choosing right plant for our box size. They asked great questions I didn’t even think of. We would have purchased wrong climbing plant that would have eventually break-out of our 4 expensive custom built hanging planters (next time we’ll purchase 4 of the larger redwood boxes from you instead of building them ourselves & save $$ and time, then custom fit them to hang on our walls. On 8/27/2020: We Purchased more soil, plus: four, 5ft jasmine vines (to make a hedge fence as seen in photo), 8 flowering plants, 2 redwood boxes below the Jasmine and monthly fertilizer. We are so grateful we bought from Sunset Blvd Nursery and not from a big box store like Home Depot or Wal-Mart, their incapable of the knowledgeable customer service and the amazing array of plants and supply that Sunset Blvd Nursery has. They will always be our one stop shop when it comes to gardening, it’s supplies or needing garden advice. Flores Artscape helped us do a total front yard transformation. We LOVE our new garden–an artscape that makes us feel proud of the front of our home. We are not only extremely happy with the final outcome, but we also appreciated the process this company used to get us there. Our project was somewhat complex, involving transforming our front yard, which started as mostly dead grass and no stairs (see before pic), to what you see in the photos–including installation of a new staircase and flagstone path up the hill, installation of several colors of gravel winding through the garden, installation of a low flagstone wall to retain the gravel along the sidewalk, and installation of many plants. We appreciated that before we entered a contract or paid any deposit, as part of their bid, Flores Artscape produced a visual concept design for us based on what we had shared about our vision. We also appreciated that Flores Artscape was happy to integrate some existing brickwork and retaining walls into the design, and to coordinate with our sprinkler company to integrate the installation of drip irrigation into the project schedule. What we most appreciated was the company’s consistent focus on ensuring customer satisfaction, down to small details; they always addressed our design concerns, requests, and punch lists, including addressing a few broken plants discovered after final payment. Of final note, our project coordinator, Nancy, was always very responsive to our texts and went the extra mile to source types of flagstone and plants that we really wanted but that the company hadn’t used before. We highly recommend Flores Artscape and hope to use them again to transform our backyard one day!

Really happy with Artscape’s work transforming our front and backyard and parkway. I spoke to three contractors for consultations and quotes, and Ben and Oscar stood well above the rest. Ben was really communicative, listened to our goals and provided helpful input on design and plant suggestions, kept us updated with schedules and timing, and incorporated our ideas seamlessly into his plan.
Oscar and his crew installing were very knowledgeable, did an incredible amount of work in 3 days, and were very respectful of the site and left it spotless. Communication after the job is over has been great as well – I had a water leak unrelated to the landscaping job that Ben came out to trouble shoot on a Sunday at no charge. This is a great and very professional crew to work, and I highly recommend.

I reached out to Ben from Artscape Gardens as well as three other landscapers in the area for quotes. From the start, Artscape stood out from the crowd with Ben’s professionalism, promptness, and integrity.
During the entire process I felt that I was listened to. When I wasn’t sure how to implement what I wanted, Ben was very good at turning my priorities into smart design choices. I was always given options and suggestions throughout the design and I never felt lost or without control.
Once we settled on a design, the work was done efficiently and professionally. I expected about three weeks of work, as quoted by other contractors, when it turned out to be one week total.
I had close to 2,700 sq ft of garden, so great care was taken to keep costs low without sacrificing quality. The end result is amazing and a beautiful testament to Ben’s design & implementation.

Not only did Artscape get back to us with a quote when they said they would, they then worked with us to get the budget to where we needed it to be. They also were able to start work ahead of time, and finished ahead of schedule. I could not speak more highly of their professionalism and artistry. They took a backyard full of dying grass and dirt and turned it into paradise – our friends all say that when they walk into our backyard, it feels like a spa, and we agree. We are so amazed with Greengrounds – fantastic work and amazing customer service. The owner of the company Cirilo is such a genuinely nice and caring guy. He is a total perfectionist with an artistic eye and cares about doing things the right way. That being said, he is totally open to ideas and doesn’t have too big of an ego to admit when something could be better and he fixes it! What more could you ask for? We have an old 1927 Spanish home and have done many renovations thru the years and a lot of them were stressful and frustrating but these guys were kind, hard working, good communicators and knocked the work out. They helped address our drainage concerns, installed lighting & irrigation, choose plants and of course the gorgeous hardscape. Our job was stalled for 3 weeks when the company shut down in the peak of the pandemic but if it wasn’t for that I think it would have finished on time and it was just another sign that they care about their team. Having this beautiful outdoor space to gather with friends outdoors during the pandemic helped us keep our sanity and has honestly changed our lives – we have lived here for 20years and we hardly ever spent time in our own yard and now we are out there all the time and have a place where we are proud to invite people over. I called a few companies to provide bids to: 1) remove our front lawn and replace it with natural plants, drip sprinklers and mulch 2) remove about 500 square feet of concrete in the backyard and replace it with artificial turf, along with planting vines along the walls 3) level existing sandstone and add decomposed granite in between 4) remove steep, concrete steps in the backyard and replace with a gradual wooden stepdown and 5) remove weeds on the side yard and add weed barrier, rocks and an orange tree. Alonso came on time for the estimate. He asked questions, took photos and measurements. About a week later I received an excellent quote. His crew followed all COVID precautions and worked so hard. One gentleman in particular was very sweet with my 10 month old son, who loved watching them work every day. The project took 11 days to complete. All throughout, Alonso made sure to ask questions and review items with me. He provided options for different items, such as the type of mulch and type of artificial turf (he brought samples for us to review). He was very kind. As an example, I selected all of the plants from the nursery and he offered to pick them up in his work truck. I highly recommend them! Their work looks fantastic.
